In 2015 Thanh Ninh left his HR position with corporate restaurants in order to pursue a larger dream: to own his own restaurant. For two years, he worked alongside his Aunt in her restaurants mastering multi-generational family recipes.

On October 22, 2017 Thanh opened 123 Pho in downtown Long Beach offering an approachable style to classic Vietnamese dishes.
